Chase turned 6 this year - SIX!!!!! That's only 10 years away from driving, 4 years away from double digits and just too old for me. He still has a very distinct personality, a rule follower to the max. For example, he had homework last night of retelling a story that he learned at school to the family using props that they had made. We were doing our other homework around 4 o'clock. I told him we should have him tell us his story at that time too. He said "no mom, my teacher told me to do the story at night and it isn't night yet." Well, ok then little man, thank you for always keeping me in check ;). Chase is still pretty laid back, going with the flow as long as we aren't doing anything wrong. He is starting to laugh at my jokes and silliness, although I know he's usually shaking his head at me. He is reading well above his grade level and has started in on chapter books, reading to himself. He loves school and never complains about going. And of course he is awesome with his little sister. They still sleep in the same room (their choice) and they rarely fight. You can tell he takes responsibility for her and gets upset when she is hurt. I just love every day with him and am so happy that he chose me to be his mama!
