Mike and I got to stay downtown for our Anniversary while mom was here - great to experience a new part of KC - so many amazing historic buildings. We stayed at the Hotel President, one of the oldest hotels in town and on the historic register. Rooms were small but the hotel was gorgeous.

Back To School!

And just like that.....the kids are back in school. Something we are used to but this time Audrey heads to kindergarten at Blue River Elementary with Chase. She was so brave and didn't cry at all. In fact I took Chase in to his class first and she was so annoyed that it was taking so long she finally said "bye mom, I'm going to my class!" I lvoe that she has no fear and has such great enthusiasm for doing big girl things. She has Mrs. Culbertson this year, who was also Chase's teachers. This makes me so happy as I know she is in the BEST hands and will learn so much in her first year of big kid school. Chase's teacher is Mrs. Lahey. I know she is a really strong teacher but I don't know her well. At the end of the day Chase told me he thinks he is going to have a great year and will like her a lot! Mom came in for the first day of school which was special as she was at Chase's first day as well. Both of us kept the tears away and stayed strong as the kids marched into another year :).

Netherfeld Farm

We spent the weekend before going back to school at Netherfeld Farm, a gorgeous bed and breakfast about an hour away. We opted to have them do breakfast lunch and dinner for us so we could spend our time swimming, playing games and running around. We went with the Stilwell and Sundet families and had a really amazing, relaxing trip! The food was incredible, as fresh from their farm or local farms as could be!
