And end of summer fun! It will take a while to get used to the pools closing over Labor Day!

To The Moon & Back Week 34
Auds is all alone this week, Chase having been busy with school and sick over the weekend. I wanted to bring a little bit of the desert out to Kansas so we planted a succulent garden. I tried to pick the heartier plants but I picked a couple that may have a hard time growing in my kitchen, they were just too cute to pass up :). From everything I read, drainage is very important. Hopefully these little guys have enough and will be happy as can be on my kitchen table! This is my first attempt at live indoor plants so wish them luck, ha!

Ummm....there are aliens in our yard!
Seriously, they are HUGE mushrooms! And they literally grow from itty bitty babies to huge monsters in one day. Audrey won't touch them, Chase thinks they are AWESOME and I just don't get them :D.

Kindergarten...sniff sniff!
WHAT?!?! Chase starts KINDERGARTEN?!?!?! Wow, time really does fly. My sweet, loving baby boy is off to the big bad world of elementary school. Oh how I wish I could keep him at home with me forever and always. His first day of kindergarten came in the blink of an eye. I felt like he was really prepared from an education perspective but I was oh so worried about him from a new school/new friends/new experiences standpoint. His first couple of days were rough. I could tell he was a little sad to go. Nana was in town to see him off to his first day and between the two of us, I don't think we made things much better with our own tears ;). But he is a brave little man and went off to school like a trooper! Making new friends isn't as easy as it has been in the past because they don't get a lot of recess (like 5-10 minutes three times a day, that seems like nothing)! He's met a couple little friends tho and seems to really like his teacher a ton which is awesome. She is AMAZING with all the kids. Mrs. Culbertson is her name and we love her!
Just like last year, I asked Chase for his input on a few of his favorite things...here are his answers:
Favorite Movie: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Favorite Game: ZLT Trials (ipad game)
Favorite Place: Pool
Favorite Food: Corn Dogs
Favorite Color: Green
Favorite Show: Paw Patrol (he said it would be the TMNT cartoon but since he picked that for a movie he didn't want to use the same thing, ha!)
My own grandma came to see me off to kindergarten many moons ago. It was so special that nana was here for his first day :).

Cookies!
With summer coming to an end, the kids have been restless. Ready to take on new schools, new friends and new adventures. Keeping them busy at home has been a challenge but one thing they love to do is cook. Hopefully they will continue this love of cooking for many years to come. For now, they make excellent helpers...Auds is more into the specifics (measuring, dumping, etc) while Chase likes to watch things mix and, in this case, help to scoop the cookies onto the baking sheet!
