This year's 4th of July was quieter than in the past but it was so nice to have a relaxing day with good friends and the kids. We hung out at the house where Mike did some smoking of chickens on his new birthday smoker and then we headed down to the neighborhood park for firecrackers and celebration. The only bummer was that the sun wasn't shining so we didn't get any pool time in. On the flip side, the day didn't get over 100 degrees so we could actually enjoy the backyard….not something we usually do during the day in July!

This pic is terribly out of focus but I had to post it. Chase's expression is SO FREAKING FUNNY…he's just a bit afraid of fireworks :)
