OK, since I do print this blog out for personal memories, I am going to cheat this week by using a post from my photography blog that I posted this past Sunday. I want to make sure it is included in my book and apologize that I am duplicating!!
Vintage.
That’s my Bloom Forum Blog Circle theme for the week. This theme has so many translations it can get lost, as the movie goes. I thought of setting up a vintage styled photo shoot, I thought of photographing a vintage wine, and then I thought of photographing something in the house that I love. And it just so happens that this something is “old” which is one of Merriam-Webster’s online definitions.
So, below, find my grandma’s vase. I had originally photographed it with flowers that coordinated with the vase itself. But last night I realized the picture was. just. wrong. So I rushed out this morning to buy her favorite roses, waited for the right light in the house, and snapped away. Being on a time line put the pressure on. I have to keep up with the other girls in my blog train, you know (and don’t forget to check out the rest of the girls…first link is below the pics)!
Coincidentally, today marks the anniversary of my grandma’s passing. I am using this piece in my unborn baby girl’s room. I wish that she could have met her great grandmother. She would have been in awe of her, just as I was.
