To The Moon & Back Week 37

One thing Overland Park is not lacking is green…every where I turn I see locations that would be so much fun to take photos at. I am trying to get the kids out with me more often for location scouting but quite frankly, it is easiest to do when they are both in school and I can drive around by myself, with my Starbucks :). I have a couple of sessions lined up so I have been working hard on lining up the best locations for families, high school seniors, and kids. I think I have found a few winners and will be taking the kids to a couple of them soon to test them out.
In the meantime, this is a field a few minutes from the house. Both kids were amazed that there were REAL apples just laying around on the ground! I seriously don’t know that they have ever seen apples outside of the grocery store, it was like a totally foreign idea to them that they could grow in real life, ha!

Baby Girl Starts School

Well how did this happen?!?! Baby girl started preschool with a smile and hasn't looked back since. She was so excited to do what her big brother does every day that it breaks her heart that she only goes three days a week. She loves playing with her friend Penelope (also our neighbor), playing at the kitchen center and eating lunch there which she only does on Wednesdays. I'm pretty sure she's learning a letter or two amongst all the fun. She had already dropped her naps so the time adjustment hasn't been that big of a deal but the days she goes to school she is definitely ready for bed at night! Her teacher's name is Mrs. Wilson and she is in the Friendly Frogs class. I've been able to assist in the classroom and watching her be a big girl is the best. She is so independent in the class setting!

Here are a few of her favorite things:
Favorite Movie: Frozen
Favorite Game: Paw Patrol
Favorite Place: Applebee's
Favorite Food: Mac n Cheese
Favorite Color: Pink
Favorite Show: Paw Patrol

To The Moon & Back \ 35

Wow! What a quick summer we have had. I felt like we barely had time to enjoy summer in Overland Park and it is already time for the pools to close. This is a new concept to me, by the way. All the pools seem to lock their doors after Labor Day! I guess I have a few months off from washing beach towels :D. We enjoyed our weekend in the sun, playing in the pool and riding bikes. The sun setting on Audrey in the image below seems to be a good foreshadowing of winter to come…something I’m a bit fearful of :).
Sheesh. I just realized this is the second week in a row Audrey has been all alone in my To The Moon & Back series. Chase will definitely be around next week! I love how determined Audrey looks in this picture. Even tho she is on training wheels, she doesn’t totally trust herself on the bike. She has always been a scooter girl but lately she has been on her bike more and more. She must realize she can keep up with her big brother faster this way!
