First Food and Other Random Things...

It has been a couple of weeks since I posted and I thought it was time to at the very least get some pictures up. Chase has been so much fun lately - he really is soooo smiley! Today when I got home, his whole face lit up and it was the best feeling to have him really recognize me and be happy that I was home - I will enjoy these moments as I know that there will come a time when he won't be so excited to see me (let's hope that is a long, long way away!). We tried giving him his first solids (see video below) but right now his tongue reflex is still pretty strong so I think we will give it a couple more weeks before we try again. With a little extra food at night, he is sleeping through the night (or until 6:30am anyways) with the exception of when he flips himself over and wakes himself up! Time with my little man is flying by - I already wish it would slow down!!!
Awe...young love :) Checking out his new big boy toys...
I think he likes it :)Mike ran the Red Rock Half Marathon....I swear I would rather run the Vegas Marathon 10 times before running this...it doesn't even look fun!
Really....does it look like he is having fun?! Dave ran the race with him - it was Dave's first race & he killed it! Next time Erin & I are wearing Cheerleading outfits...embarrassing? Chase wanted to run it too!
I think Chase was more interested in Todd's wine than his bottle!

Music Time!

Today we learned that Chase is destined for musical greatness....well, ok, that is little stretch of the truth. In reality, he went to his first Mommy and Me music class, and while he laughed the whole time at all of the moms making total goofballs of themselves, he has not quite yet composed his first #1 hit. And even though I think he had a great time, I think I had an even better time playing on the floor with him and watching all the other kids!
Sofia is a little closer to musical genious - Here she is shaking her money maker!
Love this picture...how happy is he?!
And finally, Nana Linda came for a visit again and we had a great time with her here. Chase & Nana had a blast together...thanks for all of your help mom!

OMG - TOO FUNNY!

For those of you who blog stalk (and I know you are out there)...CHECK THIS OUT http://seriouslysoblessed.blogspot.com/ - by far the funniest thing I saw today.
A blog that has a sole purpose of mocking mommy blogs.
BTW, MWT thinks it is the most hil-ary site like 4eves!

Go Rebs!

Last night I was reminded what it feels like to be in the throws of heated competition, at the edge of my seat, nails bitten to the core, all to at last be rewarded with the fantastic feeling of victory...yes, the UNLV rebels beat BYU in a game that was fought until the final clock beat to zero. I actually felt like a kid again at the game (maybe because of my fond memories of going with my dad when Tark the Shark was in full effect in the late 80's/early 90's.) and cannot wait until Chase is old enough to cheer on the Reb's with us. I hope that he can appreciate my alma mater as much as Mike & I do.***
***Mike is 100 times the fan I am. While I go for the energy and excitement (and people watching of course), Mike's love for the team runs quite deeper. He is a dedicated fan through thick and thin. Plus, he happens to follow them on the road, he knows their stats, heck, he even knows their names. True passion I tell ya!
In addition to the Rebel game, it was Adam Sanzi's 30th Birthday. Here he is with his fiance Shanelle and his mom Cheryl & Phil...Happy Bday Adam!
Chase cheered the team on from home while his Nana visited!

Weekend With Friends!

This past weekend, our dear friends from Portland (did I really just say "dear"?) came to visit. The past 2 trips that Gary and Maria have made to Las Vegas have been just what you would expect from a Vegas trip - cocktails, clubs, and lounging by the pool. Needless to say, times have changed and this trip was all about our little man! We did, however, get a chance to do some fun grownup things like Gourmet Dinner night on Friday (Maria & I think we are the next FoodNetwork Stars), dinner at Simon and Le Reve on Saturday night, and Gourmet Junk Food night on Sunday (the BEST night ever!). We also took Chase to see the Springs Preserve on Sunday. It was our first time going out there - for all you Vegas people, if you have not been, I encourage you to go. It was such a cool experience right in the heart of our city. The historical, preservation, and sustainable living exihibits were fantastic and there is also a Wolfgang Puck Cafe that has a great Sunday Brunch (even though we didn't eat there, it looked great :)). I am so glad that Las Vegas is beginning to get more and more things to do that are fun for the entire family! Below are some pictures of the trip. In true Carrie style, I lost my camera for half the trip and just found it - so, I will put the pics that I have and will wait for Maria to send me a CD of her pictures (hint, hint :)).
Striking A Pose Valentine's Day
And Another Pose... And Yet Another Pose...Not sure why we found it humorous to take pics of the poor kid on the Starbucks table! Chillin' With Maria
Mike Enjoying Some BubblyChicken Liver Pate And More Bubbly
Salt Encrusted Beef Tenderloin, Cream Spinach and Gorgonzola Polenta with Fresh Porcini
I'm sure you would all just love to see the rest of the food that we made, but lucky for you, I stopped taking pictures of our food! Here's a picture of Chase crashed out after the weekend!
